The Marine Institute appointed BlueWise Marine to provide services to support the management of the SmartBay facility which is located approximately 1.5km off the coast of Spiddal, Co. Galway.
SmartBay is Ireland’s national marine test site and observatory that provides continuous oceanographic and environmental data in near real time. It consists of the following facilities: a test site for wave energy and floating wind prototypes, a data buoy, and subsea cabled observatory. These facilities can be used to test and validate novel marine technologies. The SmartBay observatory is the Irish component of the European Multidisciplinary Seafloor Observatory (EMSO) research infrastructure.
BlueWise Marine provides the SmartBay test facility with business development and client engagement as well as project management and community engagement support services.
Scope of work:
- Lot 1: Promotion and Client Engagement Services.The activities and services include communications and marketing support , and business development support to attract new projects and users to the test facility.
- Lot 2: Project Management Services. This package includes client management, project development and project management as well as technical coordination support.
- Lot 3: Community Engagement and Liaison Support Services. The support services in this lot include stakeholder engagement and community liaison, community initiative development, school engagement, events and communications both digital and in person.
